It's kinda sad that august only had like 4 posts. Ever since i started working, i am only able to post once a week. On weekends. Kind of pathetic because excuses are the tools which build monuments of nothing lol but at least i'm posting! Anywho...
I don't watch the news. Everytime i do, i get upset. Why? because the news is sometimes full of opinions. These opinions are given by people who feel like they are "experts" on a certain issue. What really drives me to the wall is when these so called experts are saying the DUMBEST things you have ever heard because you know it will promote more ignorance among the already ignorant American population. I mean if S.Palin is on the news, what else do you expect? *eye roll*.What they say sometimes makes noooooooooooo sense! but they can get away with it because they have a bachelor's or maybe even a master's(from DevryU) in political science or some other social crap, thus, making me quite unhappy. So i'll just go ahead and list stuff:
1. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about Obama and his religion. These talks surfaced around the same time that Obama decided to allow the building of a muslim COMMUNITY CENTER at the cite of ground zero [see point #2].
People began saying ALL kinds of crazy things ranging from Obama is a Muslim and he shouldn't be voted into a second term because of his religious beliefs. People also said he has never professed that he is Christian so he is, therefore, a bad bad man and should face some kind of consequence for it. One unfortunate day when i was watching the news, there was this Reverend called -icouldcarelesswhathisnameis- who was chastising the president and calling him all kinds of names, saying he is not christian and blah blah blah.
First of all, since WHEN is the president's faith called to question when he makes a decision??? So are you trying to tell me that Pres. Barack Hussein Obama, harvard graduate, is incapable of making a sound decision, based on the constitution that governs this country, which allows a building to be built??? Please tell me you are not THAT f*ckin stupid.
I was pissed off to turn on the news everyday just to see people talking about this man's religion. WHAT difference does it make if he is muslim, christian, hindu, budhist? He is president. YOU voted him into office so Sit down and shut ur asses up! Why is it that nobody questioned Bush's religion??? Did he ever say he was Christian? maybe he did, idk (and dont care) but it is really annoying! He made an unbiased decision based on the constitution (just like a person in power should do) and he is getting tossed and fried for it. I don't understand you people.
2. Another thing which was irritating were headlines of the building of a mosque at ground zero. Now, i haven't done any research on this topic so, as usual, what i'm about to say is purely based on opinion and from what i watched on the news thus far. Speculation arose about the of a new Islamic center a few feet away from ground zero (600ft). The 9/11 attacks were HORRIBLE and there are thousands of families who are still recovering from one of America's most devastating acts of terrorism. The building of the islamic center (not mosque) has been regarded by a lot of people as an insult to the victims and the families of the victims of this tragic event....Which is understandable, but i have a question. Isn't this country built on a constitution which exercises life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by allowing its citizens to express certain freedoms like the freedom of speech, RELIGION and equality of all men? Would it make a difference if the terrorists where jewish or christian and there was a synagogue or church being built at the same location? Isn't this country goverened by the separation of church and state? I'm not trying to be insensitive here. I am also not trying to pick a side, as i completely understand the sensitive nature of this issue. Or maybe i don't quite understand it because i didn't lose a close family member on that day so i don't know what it really feels like to know that this community center (not mosque) will be built. Nonetheless, I make my points to say that people should look at both sides of the coin before placing the wager. It is unfair for an entire religion to be judged because one group of people who happened to be of that religion commited a heinous act. If this country is so governed by the separation of church and state, why is this even an issue? and why is the president's religion even an issue?
3. Someone posted an article on FB which had the heading "Obama is the worst president of all time". Really? You really want to go there? Please remember who was president before Obama.....I rest my case. Before you cast the first stone, think of the MESS in which this country was in before he got in office. He is really trying his best. When he got voted in, I knew this would happen because the population expected TOO much from this man. They expected him to clean up all the messes ASAP because that's how we like it in america. Nothing better than a quick fix! He's only human and he is really trying. Look at the president now and look at him a year ago. See those grays and wrinkles that are there now? yeaa...he's putting in work.
*exhale* Glad i got that off my chest
peace and judgement-free Love :)
