Rainy Days

I'm almost sure i have mentioned this somewhere in this blog because i'm having a deja vu moment but anyway, For the past week, it's been raining nonstop in Boston/New England Area. A lot of people are complaining about the weather and wishing the sun would come out. People's moods go down and they seem to be more tired after a long day of work..

This is the opposite for me. For some reason, i love the rain. I love hearing raindrops on a roof or in the car, the smell when it hits the asphalt on the highway or just watching the rain fall. Have you ever sat and watched rain fall? It is mesmerizing..you find yourself drifting into a place in the comfort of your mind. Like a playground when you were young, it feels euphoric. Rain reminds me of my childhood. There was nothing better than rainfall in 90 degree weather, playing in the mud and getting dirty from head to toe with all your friends, knowing you would get in a bunch of trouble at home. It takes me back to a time when my mother would make us ovaltine at night before bed and let us stay up with her (9pm was considered late). Now, it just makes me feel good. I don't even carry an umbrella anymore because i kinda like feeling raindrops on my skin. Don't you notice that everything outside looks cleaner and fresher? How could you not love something that washes away the dirt and clutter which tends to accumulate in our world? There is something deeply poetic about the rain and i love it!

peace&love
