Good guys finish last.

When a woman is asked what she wants in a man, most women give the same general answer. We want a man who is kind, honest, educated, caring and doing something with his life career wise. Some add looks, a certain level of education etc but the basic requirements stand.
When you ask a man what he wants in a woman, the answer is also a general one. I'm not a man but i'm guessing they want a woman who is "easy on the eyes", smart, will feed them, take care of them and occasional sex.

This post is clearly from a female point of view and it is clearly my opinion so feel free to disagree. Choosing a mate can be a very difficult thing. You try to find someone who meets all the requirements on your mental checklist and when you do find this person, you are golden! However, this is not always the case. It is interesting to observe what goes on in the wonderful world of dating especially from a female perspective. When a woman meets a man, there has to be something about this man which stands out. Whether it be the way he carries himself, the way he is dressed or even the way he talks. When she notices something unique about him, she becomes interested. You all probably already knew this, but anyway, this interest grows depending on if the woman starts to communicate with this man. Communications grows to like and like can be pursued and can grow into something stronger. Sometimes, a woman will meet a man she is completely infatuated with. He may not have everything on her checklist but there is just something about him which turns her on and makes her want to pursue him even more.

A lot of women will agree with me that they have been victim to the "wolf in sheep's clothing" man. The man who appears to have everything and treats them better than they have ever been treated only to find out that he is an asshole and only wanted to be with them because he wanted something. Once he got whatever he came to get, he was running out of the door. She is left hurt and with a broken hear. Ever since puberty, women have been coming across such men. Some women have fallen victim to this more times than anyone should. Because of this constant abuse, a woman will learn a lesson and proceed with caution into any relationship she begins with any man so that if he happens to be a wolf in sheep clothing, she will be fully prepared to handle the situation and bounce back. Some women proceed with so much caution that once a GOOD man who meets all their requirements and exceeds them comes into their life, they don't know what to do. They start to think it is too good to be true and start to make excuses as to why they don't want to pursue a relationship with this GOOD man. The good man who wants to build a life with you and actually have a future with you will scare a woman away because they think it's too soon or whatever. This fear drives them away from their dream man and back to the cycle of meeting the wolf in sheep clothing because those are the only kind of relationships they know how to deal with. We become so accustomed to being hurt that a man who doesn't hurt us is unfamiliar and we don't like that unfamiliarity.

We've all heard the saying "good guys finish last" and "women are attracted to the bad boy". Why is that? why is it that women will rather chase a man who will break their heart 500 times over than to be with a man who will offer them the world? It makes no sense but it's true. I honestly think women want both in a man. A man who can be an asshole AND will give them the world because a man who is too nice will be kicked to the curb in a minute! I have friends who meet wonderful men but because these men are "too nice" or boring, they are quick to say NEXT! This doesn't make sense because on that mental checklist, you definitely did not list 'asshole' as a quality you wanted your man to posses.

Something else which blows my mind is the fact that some women are OBSESSED with an EX coming back to them. After a relationship is over, women will do anything in their power to make their ex want them back. I don't get it!! If he doesn't want you anymore, he doesn't want you! TV and magazines have brainwashed women into thinking that they can get their ex back if you "follow these 10 steps" outlined in your favorite mag. If a relationship is over, Move On! because trust and believe he is moving on up without ya! I don't believe in the whole running back to your ex thing because he is your ex for a reason. If i said goodbye, then damnit, i said goodbye!!!! Of course, there is an exception to every rule but that is pretty much a rule which is set in stone.

This post was inspired by a conversation had between a lazy senior who should've been doing homework and her friend who should be asleep

typos? grammar? whatever!
